A beautiful, designer set consisting of a cup and saucer. Originally from Germany, Marktredwitz of Porzellanfabrik F. Thomas Marktredwitz / Rosenthal and Co. AG. 1960s. Made according to the design of Tapio Wirkkali, Rotunda cut. White porcelain. With an interesting, aesthetic line. The open bowl of the cup and the simple form of the plates. Each element is decorated with a wide strip of cobalt painting with a pattern in the Op-Art style. Tapio Wirkkala was a Finnish designer and artist born on June 2, 1915 in Hanko, Finland, and died on May 19, 1985 in Helsinki. He is considered one of Finland's most important designers and left his mark on the history of 20th-century Scandinavian design.
