About this vintage design furniture
Nickel-plated metal frame and four nearly square hand-blown pieces of white bubble glass - pelugoso
Bernstein is one of a series of "Stone" and "Stein" models created by J.T. Kalmar in the 1970s.
It appears in the 1974 catalog.
Pulegoso: an Italian word taken from the dialect of the word pulega, meaning bubble. The glass contains numerous bubbles of various sizes. The bubbles make the glass translucent and give the surface an irregular texture. The technique was developed in the 1920s by Napoleone Martinuzzi (1892-1977) on the island of Murano in Italy and first used by the famous Venini company .
All preserved in excellent original condition.
