About this vintage design furniture

An original coffee table in excellent condition which was produced by UP Zavody in 1960’s, in former Czechoslovakia. We are not aware of the designer but we know that this piece was designed in the so-called Czech Brussel style with a visible influence of Scandinavian furniture design. This influence is particularly apparent in the use of material. It was more common in Czech at the time to use a formica (in different colours) as a tabletop rather than this solution to simply use solid wood or veneer as the main decor. The slick hexagon shaped table top with a particularly stunning pattern of tropical wood is the main design feature here. The tampered and slightly angled legs are made of beech wood with dark brown finish, which contrasts nicely with the bright golden colour of the table top. The legs are each individually screwed into the table top and can be easily removed when necessary. This is a great solution for potential storing or transporting the table when required. This piece is in perfect vintage condition. The wooden frame, legs and the table top have been all cleaned and re polished to its original gloss. There is only absolutely minimal wear acquired over the years. Reference : 282814
