Vintage cantilever armchair in chromed metal and black leather, 1970

Cantilever chair in chromed metal and black leather attributed to Matteo Grassi, in the 1970s. This chair has a pure line, with a chromed metal tubular structure. The back and seat are upholstered in black leather. It is stitched in saddle stitch, a technique of sewing with two needles, very popular because of its strength. We will underline the presence under this armchair of two metal hoops with screw thread. They allow, in a simple and fast way, to adjust the tension of the leather and thus the firmness of the seat. The leather is numbered on the reverse side 3-96. It should be noted that the latter seems to be in suspension, due to the absence of vertical feet at the back. This design, in addition to bringing an airy spirit to this chair, also offers the advantage of flexibility: it will adapt to the position of its user. With its original curves, this chair brilliantly combines comfort and timeless design. In good general condition, some traces of wear: traces on the back leather, some slight oxidation.
