About this vintage design furniture
A large ceiling lamp model Bologna designed in 1958 by Alois Ferdinand Gangkofner for Peill and Putzler, Germany. Opal glass, milk glass, hand-formed. The electrical system has been replaced with a new one, the original roof lining. The lamp is in very good condition, the lampshade is undamaged, the defect is damage to the headliner, we wanted to keep the original headliner, but at the customer's request we can replace it with a new one. This lamp is one of the icons of European industrial design, it can be found in many exhibitions and museums dedicated to industrial design. The height of the lamp can be freely reduced.

About the designer
Alois Ferdinand GANGKOFNER
Alois Ferdinand Gangkofner (1920-2003) was a German designer and master glassmaker. Born in Bavaria, Gangkofner studied at the Zwiesel glass school and then worked as an assistant in several glass studios in Germany. In 1949, he became artistic director of the glass company Peill & Putzler in Düren, where he created many modern and innovative glass pieces.
