About this vintage design furniture
A pair of model 042 chairs in cognac leather by Geoffrey Harcourt for Artifort.
Produced in 1963, Harcourt's 042 chairs were featured in Stanley Kubrik's seminal film "2001: A Space Odyssey".
These early editions have been re-upholstered in fine, natural grain, aniline, cognac-coloured leather. Projecting luxury, they retain their space-age glamour.
The steel bar frames show signs of vintage, with marks and discolouration in places. They still present very cleanly.
They can be placed together to form a two-seater sofa, or apart for a conversational aspect.
