About this vintage design furniture
Beautiful mid-century modern Murano "sommerso" ashtray or catch-all designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Murano, Italy, 1970s). Extremely decorative. Colours: brown, yellow and clear. Length: 8 cm; width: 8 cm; height: 5.5 cm. It perfectly works as an ashtray, a vide poche, a catch-all or just as a display piece on any table. Excellent vintage condition.
"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
