Carlo Moretti (1934-2008) was born in Murano, the Island of Glass, which faces Venice. Born into a family that has carried on the tradition of Murano glass since 1734, he naturally began creating blown glass with a very original approach; he was inspired in particular by modern architecture and the pure forms of minimalist design while perpetuating the oldest techniques of Murano. Carlo Moretti's creations have been awarded many times, in particular three times with the prestigious "Golden Compass". His works are exhibited in the most important museums in the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA), the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
