About this vintage design furniture
Minimalist design three seater sofa. This model is called "Ataljee" and was designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Haimi Finland in the 1960s. It has a steel frame with wood panels. The cushions are upholstered in dark grey/blueish leather. The leather is in very nice condition considering its age. No holes or tears. The black lacquered boards have signs of use. The straps underneath have been replace by new ones.
The seat height is 40cm and the armrest height is 60cm.

About the designer
Yrjö KUKKAPURO
Yrjö Kukkapuro is a Finnish designer born in 1933. He studied at the Helsinki Institute of Industrial Art and began his career working for the Haimi furniture company in 1959. In 1964, he set up his own design studio, Studio Kukkapuro, where he designed functional and innovative furniture that won several international awards.
