About this vintage design furniture
This set of 2 modules from the Otto Zapf Sofalette range was developed by Otto Zapf in the 1970s. The corn yellow Alcantara der modular chair is in good condition with signs of wear consistent with age. A GRP shell serves as the base frame, which is in good condition for both chairs. No cracks, only slight chips on the upper edge which cannot be seen when the chair is standing. The moduls can be used as 2 seater sofa or as single chair.
Otto Zapf founded the company Vitsoe+Zapf together with Niels Vitsoe in 1958 and cooperated with Dieter Rams. In 1969 Otto Zapf left the joint company and in 1970 designed the Softline system, which became a great success for him. After that Otto Zapf worked as a designer for Knoll Int. His designs were made by Knoll Int. and B&B Italia
