About this vintage design furniture

Chair/armchair 210 designed by Gebrüder Thonet, for Ligna, Czechoslovakia, around the 60s. The design and inspiration of this model comes from the iconic 209 "Le Corbusier" chair, but has a backrest. It had a caned or upholstered finish. The brand Ligna, came from the nationalization of several Thonet factories, after the Second World War. The frame is made of bent beech wood and has its original green textured fabric on the backs and seats. The chair also has its original rattan strap/wickerwork, under the upholstery, which is in perfect condition, with no wear (see photos.) The chair is sold "as is". As the fabric has signs of age and previous use over time, one can choose to reupholster or keep "as is" or remove the fabric, in order to highlight the rattan caning of the seat (see photos ). The wood frame is in very good, original and vintage condition, with light marks and signs of age and previous use commensurate with time (see photos.) Some faded areas of finish on the overall frame, as well as the patina of age and time ( see photos.) Some signs of age and fading on the back legs, see photos. It has only been gently cleaned and polished from its original patina. The chair is solid and has the mark of its manufacturer and country of origin under the seats (see photos.) Seat height: 48 cm. We have a set of 2 similar chairs of the same color and finish for sale, listed separately on this site. (Please inquire if you are interested.) Reference : 248960
