About this vintage design furniture
This high-quality Kazuki side chair was designed in 1968 by the Japanese Architect Kazuhide Takahama (* 1930) for the Italian manufacturer Simon International in Bologna, which was a part of the Gavina corporation. The chair is composed of 4 plywood parts featuring high gloss lacquer surfaces. Under the lead of Dino Gavina, the company was the first to exploit the ancient traditional Japanese techniques of lacquered furniture within the modern manufacturing process. This piece is in very good original condition. The high gloss lacquer surface shows minor light scratches. One very fine horizontal crack of the lacquer surface on one side part - see pictures.
