About this vintage design furniture

special oak lounge armchairs designed by the Dane Bernt Petersen and produced by Schiang Furniture, 1960s. The armchairs have an oak frame with a canvas seat in between. There are two padded brown woolen cushions on the canvas seat. Nice detail with the leather “buttons”. The armchairs are dismountable. Good to very good vintage condition. Minor signs of wear on the frame, in accordance with the age. The canvas is neat, but has a slight discoloration and water stain on the inside. This is not visible through the cushions. The filling of the cushions is good, as is the original woolen fabric. Reference : 246894

About the designer

Bernhard PETERSEN

Bernhard Petersen was a Danish designer who was born in 1945 and died in 2011. He studied sculpture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before turning to industrial design. In 1972, he founded his own design studio in Copenhagen, where he worked on a wide variety of projects, from furniture to household appliances and consumer electronics.
