About this vintage design furniture

Very rare coffee table by Massimo and Lella Vignelli produced by Casigliani in the 1970s in Italy. The table consists of three pieces: a bowl, a base element made of several slices of different types of wood and the glass top. The glass top is placed inside the base element and on top of the bowl. The construction is beautiful and very simple, with a nice contrast between the warm wooden elements and the glass top. The table makes a visual statement with the graphic wood elements.Massimo Vignelli (January 10, 1931 - May 27, 2014) was an Italian designer who worked in many fields from packaging design to public signage and showroom design to housewares and furniture design. He was the co-founder of Vignelli Associates, along with his wife, Lella. His philosophy was, "If you can design one thing, you can design everything," which is reflected in the wide range of his work. Vignelli worked firmly in the modernist tradition and focused on simplicity using basic geometric forms in all of his work.
