Pair of vintage orange armchairs by Phillipe Starck for Cassina, 2000
About this vintage design furniture
We are proud to have the passion for these iconic Eurostar swivel chairs designed by Phillipe Starck for Cassina circa 2000, specifically for the Premier Salon Lounge, Eurostar Terminal, Paris and London (circa 2000). Wrap-around armchair with metal shell swiveling on a circular base central leg, fully upholstered in tan leather, adjustable circular shelf on the right.Like the Space Age aesthetic of the 1970's, these armchairs have a very retro futuristic feel thanks to their curved sculptural shape.Only 100 were made: 44 for the Eurostar Business at the Gare du Nord in Paris, France and 56 for the "Business Lounge" at the Eurostar terminal in London, U.K.With over 20 years of wear and tear, the leather remains in very good original condition and the structure remains extraordinarily strong - there is some wear and tear on this base and the back. But we will make the necessary repairs to remove any imperfections that have appeared, bringing them back as close to their original condition as possible. Please note that these are only 2 of the 20 we currently have in stock. Some need more work than others, all of which will be serviced in our workshop.
