About this vintage design furniture
The most successful design in 1954 - the Fuga bowl series (sometimes known as Colora). Instead of hand or mouth blown glass, the Fuga bowls were formed by spinning molten glass on a rotating mold, creating an attractive and durable piece. The story goes that Orrefors was skeptical of high-tech design until the iconic Swedish department store, Nordiska Kompaniet, ordered a year's production of Fuga bowls. The series finally broke through in 1955, when it was exhibited at the "H55" exhibition in Helsingborg. It also won the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1957, and was a great commercial success for Orrefors.Glass artist Sven Robert Palmqvist (sometimes spelled Palmquist) was born in 1906 in Lenhovda, Sweden.Additional dimensions:1 -height 19 cm diameter 11 cm2- height 4.7 cm diameter 17.5 cm3- height 7.5 cm diameter 12.5 cm
