About this vintage design furniture

Murano glass table lamp made using the technique known as Reticello or Doppia Filigrana, one of the most difficult hot techniques to perform, invented in Murano around the middle of the 16th century. The Reticello technique is a variant of Filigrana, obtained from the double interlacing of the canes used for decoration. In practice, two overlapping and crossed rows of canes are formed and then fused together. The lamp, signed Venini on the base, carries a light bulb with an E27 socket. Once the lamp is turned on, the interlacing of the decoration creates a fascinating light effect. The glass globe is in excellent condition, the painted aluminium base shows some slight signs of use
