About this vintage design furniture
Signed sommerso glass vase designed by Vicke Lindstrand and manufactured by Kosta (Sweden) in the 1960s. This beautiful vase is made of thick navy blue glass encased in pale grey layer and surrounded by clear glass. It is extremely decorative. The base is incised with "Kosta LH 1827" (see pictures). "Sommerso" (Italian for ’’submerged’’) is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. Measurements: height: 21 cm; width: 9 cm; depth: 6 cm. Weight: 1.8 kg. Excellent vintage condition.
