Vintage desk lamp with clip by Jean-Louis Domecq for Jielde, France 1950

Mid-century clip-on lamp designed by Jean-Louis Domecq for Jieldé, 1950s. This version dates from the 1960s; a classic French industrial design originally conceived as a bench lamp. The adjustment joints contain sliding contacts where the current flows. This allows the lamp to be adjusted infinitely without the risk of the wire breaking. It also allows the lamp to be made longer or shorter by placing an arm in between or removing an arm. Condition is still good and original with normal signs of use and paint wear. Wiring has been checked by an electrician. Dimensions: h x w x d 80 x 66 x 23 cm, maximum length 110 cm. Marked: Jieldé, made in France.
