About this vintage design furniture
This huge cabinet with drawers was made in Austria in the 1930s. It is made of three kinds of wood: oak, elm and hornbeam. Oak wood is considered a royal material for a reason: even after many centuries, oak furniture looks new, gaining nobility and depth of color every year. Elm wood is used for the manufacture of boats and underground elements, and hornbeam is used wherever ductility, flexibility, hardness, resistance to impact and friction are required. As a result, the entire structure is very heavy, strong and resistant to moisture. The cabinet has 24 long drawers with burned Roman numerals. The handles are made of metal. The cabinet comes from an architectural studio and has been used to store drawings, designs, photographic films and maps. This design is perfectly suited for lofts and raw industrial interiors, where space is at a premium. This piece is in its original condition, with visible signs of age. It has scratches, scuffs, chips and a natural patina on the wood.
