About this vintage design furniture

This large Scandinavian industrial cabinet with 15 drawers was made in Sweden by S.K.N. Aktiebolaget Edsbyn Möbelfabrik in the 1955s. The cabinet is made of wood and has original metal handles. This piece has 15 drawers of the same size. The wood has been finished in a honey tone and has a natural patina. This cabinet is a great fit for industrial and raw interiors and works well in loft spaces. It is ideal for storing documents and other small things. In 1899, craftsman Lars Fredrik Pettersson established a woodworking shop producing furniture for the growing town of Edsbyn. In 1928, his son, Ivar Pettersson, took over and a new era began. Ivar Pettersson studied Henry Ford's production line and was probably the first in Sweden to set up professional processes, jigs, fixture plates and workstations for industrialized furniture manufacturing. In 1934, Edsbyn's ski factory opened, although the company had been producing skis for the Swedish armed forces since 1905. "You make our skis, can't you also make our office furniture" - that's what the armed forces asked Edsbyn. It was in this context that Edsbyn became one of the most popular brands in the Nordic region for furnishing public spaces. This piece is in its original condition, with traces of age. It has scratches, scuffs, small veneer chips, marks and natural patina.
