About this vintage design furniture
This classic suspension lamp from Shogo Suzuki is an excellent example of how a great lighting effect can be achieved from a very minimalist and almost simple approach. The lampshade is a straight cube made of sheet metal with circular cut-outs lacquered in semi-gloss white creating half-moon lighting effects that vary depending on the angle. In addition to being very decorative in its simplicity, it also gives a pleasant glow downwards. Good condition with a few small scratches. Standard porcelain bulb socket E 27. The light is rewired for safety. Stockmann-Orno A.B. was a large lighting factory, founded in 1921 in Helsinki, Finland. In 1936 Stockmann became the owner of Orno and the company moved to Kerava in 1937. Before and during the Second World War, the luminaires were designed by Bertel Lindholm, Gunilla Jung-Pircklén and Gunnel Nyman. From the late 1940s to the 1960s, Orno's main luminaire designers were Lisa Johansson-Pape and Yki Nummi.
