About this vintage design furniture
Vintage G-PLAN chest of drawers in teak and afromosia, scandianve style, by VB Wilkins for the G-PLAN editor, 1970s. This is the "FRESCO" range, 1960s - 1970s. Combination of beautiful design, noble material and high functionality. We like the elegant organic design handles, beautifully coloured and wood-veined, in good condition. Very good condition, only a few traces of normal use for his age. Dimensions of this vintage chest of drawers G-Plan: W81 x D45,5 x H54cm. A beautiful modernist piece, typical of the genre and time, it is an elegant room with practical dimensions. G-Plan was one of the most recognised names in furniture production in the UK until the late 1970s. In the 1960s, G-Plan set the standard for modernist consumer furniture in the post-war UK. In order to compete with imported Scandinavian furniture, G-Plan hires designer Ib Kofod-Larsen. Following the success of Kofod-Larsen, Wilkins' Fresco range is influenced by Scandinavian design. Designed in 1966 and launched the following year, the range - G-Plan's most successful range - includes a suite of furniture for all rooms, all finished in richly grained and elegant teak. The design itself combines the elegant and sculptural aesthetics of Italian furniture with the unique Scandinavian style that was so popular at the time.
