About this vintage design furniture
Rare Perfolux hanging lamp designed by Niek Hiemstra at Hiemstra Evolux appr. 1955. The perforated shade creates a very nice light effect. Hiemstra Evolux patented the Perfolux lamps in the 1950s. This lamp is still in good condition with normal traces of use and wear. The lamp has been cleaned and the wiring has been replaced by an electrician. Source: catalogue Hiemstra Evolux.

About the designer
Niek Hiemstra
Niek Hiemstra is a Dutch designer born in 1960. He studied product design at the Groningen Academy of Fine Arts in the Netherlands, graduating in 1984. After working for a few years as a freelance designer, Hiemstra joined the Gispen product design company in 1988.
