About this vintage design furniture
This is a larger biomorphic bowl "AXK" by the great Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand. The matte blue hares fur glaze fades into brown and the edge is light brown almost yellow. Very good 1st class glaze and no damage at all. These bowls are among the most sought after mid century products from Rörstrand but mostly comes in smaller size around 10 cm. This is a rare 20 cm wide version.

About the designer
Gunnar NYLUND
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish designer known for his contributions to the Scandinavian ceramics industry. Born in Paris, Nylund spent his childhood in France and studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1925, he returned to Sweden and began working in the ceramics industry in Upsala-Ekeby.
