Louis DUROT

A prolific designer, in the 70s he created over sixty sculptures paying homage to the fungi and carnivorous plants that would make up an extraterrestrial world. The Sexy Feet armchair (90's) is another particularly original creation. Biography Born in 1939 in Paris, he studied to become a chemical engineer. In 1964, he met the artist César and became his assistant. He helped him to better understand and use polyurethane. In the early 70s, he made the extraterrestrial world the main subject of his sculptures. Later, he worked with two architects on an inflatable structure for the French Pavilion in Osaka. This won an award, but never saw the light of day. In 1979, he presented his own creations at his first exhibition at the Salon Batimat in Paris. He signed major contracts with companies such as American Colloïd and Zolpan. This allowed him to concentrate on the technological aspect of his designs.
