Jules LELEU

Leleu became famous in the 1920s for his elegant furniture, luxurious fabrics and innovative wallpapers. He also designed interiors for prestigious clients such as actress Micheline Presle, King Leopold III of Belgium and French President Vincent Auriol.

In the 1940s, Leleu expanded his business to include mass-produced furniture. He also worked on the reconstruction of many homes and public buildings destroyed during the Second World War.

During his career, Jules Leleu received many honors, including the Legion of Honor and the Gold Medal at the 1937 Paris Universal Exhibition. His company continued to operate after his death, managed by his sons until its closure in 1973. Today, Leleu's creations are highly sought-after collectors' items the world over.
