Jean-Pierre VITRAC

Early in his career, VITRAC worked for the Airborne furniture company, contributing to the development of the famous AA chair, an icon of French design. He then went on to work for the Disderot lighting company, for whom he created a number of modern, elegant luminaires.

In the 1960s, VITRAC began working for the French porcelain company Villeroy & Boch, where he created several collections of contemporary tableware, including the famous "Arpeggio" collection.

VITRAC also worked for other major companies such as Pyrex, Rosenthal and Cristallerie de Saint-Louis, as well as for numerous public institutions, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Over the course of his career, VITRAC won numerous awards and distinctions, including the René Gabriel prize in 1964 for his "Arpeggio" dinnerware collection for Villeroy & Boch. His work is exhibited in museums around the world, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
