Vintage secretary in burl by Amboyna, 1920s

Parisian burr amboyna desk with a secret drawer at the top that opens with a system of latches revealed when the flap is opened. The flap, with its original key and lock in perfect working order, reveals a writing space in dark sycamore with original pink leather. The flap is held in place by nickel-plated compasses sliding on a chrome-plated element on the side. The sycamore tabernacle features two small drawers and two recessed shelves, adjustable on cleats.underneath, two doors open onto small pommels and close with each other with a so-called walnut closure, preventing distortion. The original "top and bottom" lock is supplied with key.
