About this vintage design furniture

Pair of Danish Mid-Century Modern Ceramic Table Lamps by Desiree Stentoj These lamps were produced by Danish company Desiree Stentoj probably in the 1960s. The lamps are made of glazed stoneware. The bases feature an abstract geographic pattern and have a beautiful glazing in tones of dark red and purple-ish tones. The bases without the shades measure 35 cm in height , 13 cm in width and 10,5 cm in depth. The lamps have been rewired for European use. To be checked by a local electrician before put to use. In case of use elsewhere, you can either use an adapter or have them rewired by an electrician. It's super easy to do. The lamps also have new shades. The Désirée Porcelain Factory was founded in 1964 by H.C. Torbol. Mister Torbol was the formerly director and production manager at Bing & Grondahl. Bing & Grondahl was a Danish porcelain manufacturer. In 1987 the company merged with the Royal Porcelain Factory under the name Royal Copenhagen. Torbol had also worked at the Norden porcelain factory in Copenhagen. Torbol’s son Knud Torbol and his wife Lis took over the company in 1975. The family business is located in Ringsted on the island of Seeland. Initially the factory produced mainly utility items and lamps. Later the factory produced dinnerware and gift articles in porcelain and stoneware. All products are hand painted. Apparently the company ended business around 2000/2001 but the website is still online. Reference : 279006
