About this vintage design furniture
Pair of beautiful sommerso Murano glass vases designed by Flavio Poli (Italy, 1960s). They are made of thick Murano glass (quite heavy, 2.8 kg each). The vases are extremely decorative.
- Green, yellow and transparent vase (manufactured by Seguso Vetri d'Arte): height: 27 cm; width: 15 cm; depth: 10 cm.
- Dark red and transparent vase (manufactured by Vetreria Formia, signed at the base): height: 26.5 cm; width: 14 cm; depth: 10 cm.
Both vases are in excellent vintage condition. Usual scratches at the base.
The listed price is for the pair (two vases).
"Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which was very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
