Vintage teak desk, Denmark 1950

Vintage Danish teak kidney desk, 1950s. Danish Mid-Century Modern freestanding organically shaped writing desk made in Denmark in the 1950s. Kidney shaped table top in teak veneer. Drawer section with three drawers with sculpted pulls in solid teak. Round corner cabinet with curved door. The back features open shelf and a cabinet with hinged door. Standing on four round tapered legs in solid oak. Very elegant handcrafted desk from Danish master carpenter in the style of Kai Kristiansen/Arne Hovmand-Olsen. An early Scandinavian Modern design characterized by the narrow legs and floating appearance together with the organic shape. A sculptural design the would fit both in the home office or the living room. Good original condition with normal signs of wear. Some light nicks, scratches and minor veneer losses (please see photos). Solid and stable construction. All surfaces has been cleaned and polished. Ready for use. Reference : 271571
