Vintage vanity mirror with matching shelf, Italy 1940
About this vintage design furniture
Vanità is a precious set consisting of a wall mirror and a shelf finely crafted by expert glassblowers in the heart of Murano in the early 1940s.All the pieces are assembled on a solid structure made of cherry wood. These precious details have been entirely made according to traditional Murano techniques, such as the curved rods called "Torchon" and the graceful roses and glass leaves. In addition, all the glasses have been finely engraved with an elegant floral pattern. The touch of gold is created by the use of precious 24 Kt gold leaves fused into the transparent glass and applied to the wooden structure. The mirror and the shelf are two separate and matching pieces that are in very good condition (no chips or cracks). They were part of the entrance hall of a splendid attic in the city of Bergamo. An antique set ready to beautify you and your special home.Mirrors were invented by the Venetians in the 16th century, so what better way to celebrate history than with this exquisite Murano vanity set.
