About this vintage design furniture

Giancarlo Piretti deisgned this foldable and comfortable Plona lounge chair for Castelli in 1969. This lounge chair evolved from the award wining Plona chair in 1967. The chair is, foldable, yet it holds the comfort of a lounge chair through the pre-formed shell, which is upholstered in a purple kvadrat fabric. Piretti, born in Bologna in 1940, studied at the Instituto Statale d’ Arte in his hometown. He later worked as an interior designer for Anonima Castelli and designed home furniture series, office furnishing systems and the legendary award-winning Plia chair. This Plona chair is rare because of its age and the leather that has been used. The leather has a beautiful patina. Original brandmark sticker on the frame.
