About this vintage design furniture
It is to the Berber tribe Beni Ouarain that we owe the eponymous Berber carpet. This tribe formerly called Zenata lives in the Moroccan Middle Atlas since the 10th century. It is still present around the Moroccan cities of Fez and Taza. Semi-nomadic, this tribe alternates between cultivating cereals in the fertile lands of the lower Atlas and moving with their livestock throughout the year. During their travels, life in tents and low temperatures lead them to use the wool of their sheep to make multipurpose Moroccan carpets to protect themselves from cold and humidity. It is for its thick hair and its high quality white wool, among others, that the Beni Ouarain carpet is world famous. They are generally large carpets elaborated with a lot of patience by the weavers of the community. 200×300 cm
