About this vintage design furniture
This cognac-colored Wammes leather armchair with metal base and the typical basket cover, is in very good condition. The leather shows slight signs of wear and tear and minor stains. The basket cover of the foot is perfect and the rotating mechanism is smooth. This Wammes armchair was designed by the Dutch designer Gerard van den Berg in the 1970s and shows the organic language typical of van Berg. The Dutch manufacturer Montis has been known for producing extravagant furniture in cooperation with well-known designers since the 1970s.

Gerard VAN DER BERG
Gerrit (Gerard) Van Der Berg (1947-2011) was a Dutch designer known for his modern, functional furniture creations. He studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and began his career as an industrial designer at Gispen, a Dutch furniture company.
