Vintage rosewood wall unit by Schreiber 1960

Royalx series" wall storage unit by schreiber, made of richly colored Indian rosewood veneer with beautiful wood grain. A multitude of storage and other space with three drawers, several shelves and two storage compartments, dating from the 1960s. This piece is in superb original condition, with very slight signs of age and use as well as a beautiful patina of time, on the frame, shelves and legs. A very small use mark on the bottom left side of the piece (see photo.), the bottom shelf (see photo.) and under the bottom drawer knob (see photo. ) the 3 drawers, the upper pull-out storage space and the lower left sliding door storage compartment, all work properly and have their beautiful original carved knobs. Inside the pull-out storage, the original smoked glass shelf is also present. The piece has a maker's mark, as well as the model type, "royalex", (see photos.) we believe this piece could have been made between 1967 and 1968 and could possibly be one of the later greaves and thomas design models, which schreiber purchased in 1967. A classic piece with a Scandinavian influence, this piece is not only cool, but practical and functional. Whether used as a wall unit or as a room divider ( the back of the piece also has a rosewood finish), it will look great in a living room, dining room, den or bedroom and will only compliment other mid-century decor.
