Vintage office chair by Arne Vodder, leather and rosewood for Sibast, Denmark 1960

This Danish office chair, model 419, in black leather is an exceptional piece. Certified original edition. Designed in the 60's by the Danish designer arne vodder and manufactured by sibast mobler. Seat in black leather and armrests in solid rio rosewood. This armchair reflects the minimalist Scandinavian design of the 1960s. Incredibly comfortable and fully adjustable. Referenced by the danish design museum. Swivel chair, height adjustable with a knob, backrest adjustment for a smooth backward tilt. Armrests, edges and legs in solid rosewood. To note: five legs changed at the time by the parent company because the previous owner wanted a better stability. Good general condition, some slight traces, without consequence, on the leather which gives it a nice patina. The leather has been cleaned and greased, it is of very good quality and can be used without any problem for many years. Arne vodder (danish, 1926-2009). His furniture was used in the White House during the time of the American president Jimmy Carter. A graduate in architecture trained by finn juhl, his close friend and business partner. Arne vodder and verner panton are among the leading Danish avant-garde furniture designers of the 20th century. Dimensions: W: 71 cm, H: 100 cm, D: 75 cm.
