About this vintage design furniture
Vintage Scandinavian teak coffee table from 1956 by peter hvidt and orla mølgaard-nielsen for france and daverkosen. This coffee table is very elegant with its curved shape and its little brass balls under the top. This one seems to be levitating on the legs which makes this table in solid teak very light visually. Nice condition, the legs have some traces of old restoration, see pictures. The crosspieces of the legs are removable so easy to disassemble and transport. This is moreover what characterized the creations of peter hvidt and orla mølgaard-nielsen.

About the designer
Peter HVIDT & Orla MOLGAARD NIELSEN
Hvidt & Mølgaard Nielsen is a mid-20th-century Danish design duo consisting of Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard Nielsen. Peter Hvidt was born in Copenhagen in 1916 and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts before working as a designer for various companies. Orla Mølgaard Nielsen was born in Copenhagen in 1907 and also studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, before working as an architect and designer.
