About this vintage design furniture
Prototype children’s chair of the eventual design that was retailed through Metz & Co, Amsterdam. Gunnar Daan developed the design through the early 1960s whilst living on his house boat in Amsterdam. He intended concentric circles of the seat, armrest and base to be cut from a single piece of plywood, thereby achieving the maximum usage from the materials used. As a simplified prototype design it has the feel of a Modernist Gerrit Rietveld or Ado chair.
