Yonel LEBOVICI

Born in Bucharest, Yonel Lebovici studied medicine before turning to art and design. After studying at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he began his career in the 1960s creating furniture and art objects in metal. He quickly gained recognition for his innovative and daring style, blending sculptural aesthetics with the functionality of his creations.

Among his most famous works are the "Acapulco" chair (1962), the "Lune" light fixture (1970), the "Zig-Zag" table (1972), and the "Saturne" mirror (1983). Yonel Lebovici also created several monumental sculptures, including the famous "Tour aux figures" (1986) at La Défense, near Paris.

Yonel Lebovici died in 1998, but his work continues to be exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world, and remains a source of inspiration for many contemporary designers.
