About this vintage design furniture

Dining table in teak France and threads Offered for sale is a 60's Danish circular dining table with extensions, made of teak and designed by Inger Klingenberg. The dining table is a unique design that can seat eight people comfortably thanks to the jack-shaped extensions. Danish designer Inger Klingenberg, born in 1932, produced some of the most fascinating furniture of the time and played a crucial role in establishing the Danish mid-century modern movement as a force throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Often overlooked by her peers, Klingenberg produced cutting-edge designs that exuded quality and innovation. In addition to her own design company, founded in 1958, she worked with two of the world's most prestigious furniture manufacturers, Fristho Franeker and France and Sons. She designed a range of fabrics and jewellery and was married to Ross Littel, an American designer who worked with Charles Eames. France and Son was founded in 1948 by British businessman Charles France and his Danish partner Eric Daverkosen. In the beginning the company was called France & Daverkosen. Charles's son, James, joined the company in 1957, which led to the name change to France & Son. The furniture of France & Son was known as a high-end brand. Their headquarters in the United Kingdom were located in Bond Street Mayfair and the furniture was sold in high-end outlets such as Harrods & Heals. Dimensions (cm) : W 119 x H 70 x D 119 (extended W 179) Condition: In excellent condition, with extremely minor age-appropriate wear.
