About this vintage design furniture
Flying saucer style glass ceiling light fixture from ASEA. A beautifully shaped large glass shade that when mounted looks like its floating with the attachment to the ceiling hidden. The attachment has a bit of paint on it but since it is not visible it has minor importance. The glass shade hooks onto the ceiling plate by the flick of a lever sideways. Very good condition with no damage at all to the glass. Standard E27 light bulb socket. An acronym for Allmänna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget (in English, the “General Swedish Electrical Limited Company”), ASEA was a Swedish manufacturer of electrical products and industrial infrastructure. While broadly known for the more large-scale parts of the catalog—e.g., steam turbines for power plants, high-speed locomotives for passenger railroads, etc.—ASEA endures in hearts of design lovers for their midcentury interior lighting collections produced in collaboration with venerated designers like Gunnar Asplund and Hans Bergström.
