Erik HOGLUND

Höglund began his career as a painter, but soon turned to glass design. He worked for a number of companies, including Boda Glassworks and Kosta Boda, and created many popular hand-blown glass designs. His style was often characterized by organic forms and vivid colors, inspired by nature and Swedish folk traditions.

In addition to glass, Höglund also worked with other materials such as metal, ceramics and wood. He created pieces for public spaces, such as fountains and sculptures, as well as smaller pieces for domestic interiors.

Höglund received numerous awards for his work, including the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1960 and the Prix Lunning in 1963. His creations are featured in numerous museum collections around the world, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He is considered one of Scandinavia's most influential 20th-century designers.
