Mid-century 'Mushroom' Table Lamp by Unilux 1970s

Mid-century, vintage, "Mushroom" table lamp with a brushed aluminum base, by Unilux, circa 1970’s. Lamp is in overall excellent, vintage condition with very light signs of age and use commensurate with time, but nothing that affects its sheer coolness and fantastic effect as a real accent piece. - There is a minor mark of age and usage on one side of the shade, but nothing that affects its functionality. - A small mark of usage just below the neck on one side, light signs of age and usage on the base commensurate with time (see photos.) - Patina consistent with age and use over time. ~ The mushroom-shaped, plastic shade is white with a brushed aluminum dome with a chrome tip that unscrews at the top, and rests on a neck and base made of brushed aluminum that gives it a fun, space-age effect. When lit with 1 bulb on, the shade emits a subdued, cozy, warm glow. When both bulbs are lit, the light is obviously brighter, but not overpowering. ~ The lamp comes with two sockets in which to place lightbulbs, and has a string cord, with which to turn one or both on, depending one how much or little light, one prefers. There is a minuscule piece of plastic missing from the end of the string, but it remains functional. In order to turn one or both of the lights on, the string must be in position on the side where it’s located, on the left side of the black, plastic encasement where the bulbs are located (see photos.) The lamp has been tested and functions properly, with two, E-27 type, screw-in light bulbs (not included.) ~ It has been gently dusted and cleaned with respect to the original patina. ~ Comes with its original cord & plug. ~ European plug up to 250 volts. Whether used in the living room, bedroom, entryway, dining room or elsewhere, the iconic design of this lamp, remains desirable, collectible and showcases an accent piece that will compliment any given space, be it MCM, rustic contemporary or other.
