Folie

Pierre FOLIE

Pierre Folie is best known for his mastery of stainless steel, a material that was then relatively new to the world of design. He created numerous stainless steel seats and lighting fixtures that were hailed for their elegant, modern aesthetic. His designs were often characterized by simple, uncluttered geometric shapes and elegant curved lines.

During his career, Pierre Folie won several prestigious awards, including the René Gabriel prize for the "Trèfle" chair in 1966 and the Roscoe prize in 1975 for his "Cascade" lamp. His creations have been exhibited in numerous museums and galleries in France and around the world, and his furniture and lighting are considered collector's items today. Pierre Folie died in 1989, but his influence on the world of French design continues to be recognized and celebrated.
