Nielsen (Peter Loving)

Peter Loving NIELSEN

Nielsen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1954. He then worked for several architectural firms before moving to New York in 1958.

In New York, Nielsen worked for several industrial design firms, including Henry Dreyfuss Associates and Raymond Loewy Associates. He also worked as a consultant for companies such as IBM, General Electric and Westinghouse.

In 1960, Nielsen founded his own design firm, Peter Nielsen Associates, which quickly gained renown for its innovative and functional designs. Nielsen won numerous awards for his work, including the prestigious Industrial Design Award from the American Institute of Architects in 1963.

Nielsen worked on a wide variety of projects throughout his career, including designs for consumer electronics, medical equipment, furniture and children's toys. He died in 1984 at the age of 56, but his influence on the world of industrial design continues to be felt today.
