About this vintage design furniture

Sculptural solid brass wall sconce, model Gothic II. Designed in the middle of the 1960s by Bent Karlby. Finished in brushed brass with fine lines. Very good condition with only very few signs of use. Danish lighting company Lyfa was originally founded ca. 1924 under the name of Københavns Lampe Og Lysekronefabrik in the early 20th century. Based in the greater Copenhagen area and renamed Lyfa ca. 1930. Bent Karlby, in particular, created a number of successful designs for Lyfa in the 1960s.

Bent KARLBY

Bent Karlby (1912-1998) was a Danish designer renowned for his contributions to the lighting industry. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he developed his minimalist, functional style.
