Mid-Century Wall Unit by Poul Cadovius or Royal Systems in Rosewood, 1950s

This 50s wall unit has been designed by Poul Cadovius and is made by Royal Systems. This company founded by Cadovius was most renowned for the array of wall unit designs they produced. This particular design is veneered in rosewood, however all fixtures are of solid rosewood and beautifully cut. The fixtures fit into the stands and shelves in turn fit onto the fixtures. All is kept in place by wooden pins and is easily mounted and removed yet very solid.

This wall unit has 4 stands and 17 boards of which 2 have more depth (30cm). The central unit has shorter boards as these were cut by a previous owner. As they thus lack veneer on one side these come at a more attractive price. However it doesn’t stand out, see pictures. And offcourse you can put these shelves also on the side in the corner, as the previous owner did. Some boards have some slight curvature. Because of this patina the wall unit is considered to be in a good vintage condition.
