LE TEMOIN (The Witness), seat sculpture by Man Ray for Simon, 1971. "An eye that is constantly watching you in your house, if you turn it upside down, it instantly turns into a small sofa or table. Designed by Man Ray for the Ultramobile exhibition designed by Studio Simon (Dino Gavina), Italy in 1971. His goal was to adapt the surrealist object in a surprising way to everyday use, bringing a poetic presence into our homes. Material: Wood covered with white artificial leather and silk-screened methacrylate decoration. Dimensions: h x w x d 70 x 151 x 43 cm. A unique piece for the collector. Source: Dino Gavina book. Man Ray, whose real name was Emmanuel Radnitzky, was a Russian-born American artist and designer. He was born on August 27, 1890 in Philadelphia, USA, and died on November 18, 1976 in Paris, France.
